I made these by building a design in illustrator, and using the .svg with the laser cutting software to burn them out of frosted plexiglass. I cut the light box out of balsa wood, painted it black, and hid a large round LED inside.
This is what the svg looks like.
Centering the light in the box created a great gradient effect around the edges. I'll definitely experiment more with this technique in the future!
